Job summary

Donaldson Company is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to support production by maintaining and repairing equipment, wiring and hydraulics, and leading small improvement projects. The role requires reading blueprints, operating shop tools, and working with EPC-based systems.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of related experience, and be able to work off-shifts as needed.

  • Maintain preventative maintenance programs in assigned areas.
  • Repair production equipment with minimal production interruption.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical blueprints and schematics.
  • Install and relocate equipment and utility services.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects and update maintenance procedures.

Job description

Essential Functions:
  • Self-motivated and aptitude to work independently.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance programs in assigned areas.
  • Able to work with computers (recording information, using to find information to perform the job) using ePAC software
  • Repair production equipment with minimal interruption to production.
  • Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test and adjust equipment of all types for safe and proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and piping) for machines and buildings.
  • Use basic shop tools such as lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, grinders, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, and take proper care of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all employees.
  • Lead specific continuous improvement projects and updates of maintenance procedures, work orders to sustain improvements.
  • Provide ideas/solutions to equipment improvement and participate on miscellaneous improvement teams.
  • Install and relocate equipment and air/power services.
  • Must be able to work on ladders, scissor lifts, and industrial powered equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all phases of industrial machinery, including CNC controlled equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical.
  • Arc and gas welding, cutting, brazing, silver and soft soldering.
  • Maintain buildings and grounds as needed.
  • Complies with all EHS and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • A minimum of two (2) year of related experience
  • A minimum of a two-year degree in Maintenance related area, Maintenance Technical/Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or related field is preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal
  • Flexibility and agility in an ever-changing environment
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Perform a variety of tasks safely throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work off-shifts, weekends & extended shifts as required (i.e. 10-12 hours)
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Stand for an extended amount of time
  • Working in and/or around loud machinery
  • The ability to handle repetitive motion
