Job summary

VORTEQ Coil Finishers, LLC is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Material Handler to join our fast-growing team. If you're reliable and fast on your feet, we'd like to meet you.

The primary function is to operate the equipment needed to transport raw materials, cartons, cores, drums and totes, skids, and finished product efficiently while minimizing damage.

Shift options include Daylight 6:00am-2:00pm or 2:00pm-10:00pm, full- or part-time, overtime as needed. Salary: $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years in warehouse or logistics; material handling experience preferred.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Stock, move, and transport materials to/from storage with minimal damage.
• Verify inventory tags and counts; complete paperwork and data entry accurately.
• Maintain storage areas according to location requirements.
• Identify finished products and raw materials; ensure proper storage and location.

Job Overview

The primary function of the Material Handler is to operate the required equipment necessary in the transporting of raw materials, cartons, cardboard cores, paint drums and totes, skids, and finished product in an efficient manner, minimizing material damage.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Perform all duties to the safety standards established as they relate to the position.
• Qualified to operate all material handling equipment efficiently as determined by successful completion of training program.
• Perform daily maintenance checks of assigned equipment and operates in a manner that minimizes maintenance costs.
• Stock, remove and transport materials to and from storage in all departments (raw materials, finished products, cartons, etc...) in a manner that minimizes material damage and loss.
• Identify specific finished products, raw materials, etc...and maintain plant storage areas according to material location requirements.
• Be aware of and employ proper stacking techniques.
• Load and unload trucks, completing all necessary paperwork and data entry, and transport material to proper storage areas.
• Accurately verify inventory tags, labels, product count, correct item number, etc...

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics; experience in operating material handling equipment preferred
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and lift heavy materials up to & over 50lbs
• Function successfully in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Contribute to team efforts by communicating and working well with others
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Computer skills are a must and attention to detail is critical.

Shift

Flexible schedules, full or part-time, rotating weekly, shifts. Overtime as needed.

Daylight shift

Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:00pm

Afternoon shift

Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm
