Job summary

VORTEQ Coil Finishers, LLC in Valencia, PA is seeking a Material Handler for the Slitter Department to support our fast-growing operation. You will operate material handling equipment, verify inventory, label and store materials, and complete production paperwork.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, forklift experience, and the ability to work Monday through Saturday 5:00am to 2:00pm with overtime as needed. We offer comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods while performing duties.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Demonstrated time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Forklift experience preferred; willingness to operate material handling equipment after training.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently after training and safety instruction.
• Identify, label, and stock materials; maintain accurate inventory records.
• Pull production materials from stock and document locations on orders.
• Complete paperwork and data entry related to inventory and production.
• Load/unload trucks and transport materials to storage areas with care.
• Verify inventory tags, counts, and item numbers to prevent errors.
• Follow all safety rules and company guidelines in daily tasks.

Job Overview

Operate all equipment safely and efficiently - following successful completion of safety and training programs. Maintain inventory accurately by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory. Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders while completing necessary paperwork and data entry.

Schedule

• Monday - Saturday 5:00am - 2:00pm

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform all duties to the safety standards established as they relate to the position
• Qualified to operate all material handling equipment efficiently as determined by successful completion of training program
• Perform daily maintenance checks of assigned equipment and operates in a manner that minimizes maintenance costs
• Stock, remove and transport materials to and from storage in all departments (raw materials, finished products, cartons, etc...) in a manner that minimizes material damage and loss
• Identify specific finished products, raw materials, etc...and maintain plant storage areas according to material location requirements
• Be aware of and employ proper stacking techniques
• Load and unload trucks, completing all necessary paperwork and data entry, and transport material to proper storage areas
• Accurately verify inventory tags, labels, product count, correct item number, etc
• Comply with all safety rules and guidelines

Qualifications

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and lift heavy materials up to & over 50lbs
• Function successfully in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Contribute to team efforts by communicating and working well with others
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends
• Ability to pass company training - required
• Must have **VALID** driver's license and **RELIABLE** transportation
• Forklift experience required, preferred to be sit-down forklift experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Manufacturing plant environment with dirt, dust and temperature fluctuations based on seasonal conditions with minimal fans and heaters
• Large machinery with moving parts as well as forklift traffic and material storage

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Standing for long periods of time
• Capable of lifting at least 50lbs

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Manufacturing Experience 1-3 years
