Job summary

Triple-S Steel is seeking a dependable Material Handler to support safe, efficient movement of steel within the storage and production areas. You will follow safety standards, meet daily productivity goals, and assist with routine and non-routine maintenance as needed.

The role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, operating forklifts or cranes, and coordinating with other departments to ensure accurate material flow in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine material or equipment needs.
• Strong planning and organizing skills, with or without direct supervision.
• Working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Ability to maintain inter-department communications on routing, safety and customer relations.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

Responsibilities

• Follow safe methods of work and report unsafe conditions.
• Move steel to/from storage or production areas using hand, forklift, crane or other equipment.
• Attach slings and guide loads; tie down materials for transport.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely (forklift, crane, banding, etc.).
• Work indoors/outdoors in all weather; attend required meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
