Description / Scope / Mission
Operate various material handling equipment in the movement of raw materials, finished goods, and miscellaneous items.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Exercise good safety practices to prevent accidents to self, others, and facilities, and report unsafe conditions to the Production Coordinator.
- Receive, transport, and store materials following established methods and procedures for stock location, rotation, and identification. This task involves unloading trailers and using the computer system.
- Stock production with components following established methods and procedures.
- Check for correct identity, quantity, and appearance of materials, components, supplies, and products.
- Prepare complete and accurate records as required.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
MARGINAL JOB DUTIES:
Assist line workers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Stand; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl up to 1/3 of the time.
- Walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or touch; and talk or hear 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Use foot/feet to operate machinery 2/3 or more of the time.
- Lift up to 10 pounds or exert force up to 1/3 of the time.
- Lift approximately 25 pounds to a height of about 6 feet and carry it 5-10 feet up to 1/3 of the time.
- Lift or exert force up to 50 pounds up to 1/3 of the time.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
- Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area while eyes are fixed on a point).
- Depth perception (ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).
- Ability to adjust focus (bring objects into sharp focus).
Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Some warehouse experience is a plus.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak basic English.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Specific Knowledge: (Technical/Product, Organizational, and Interpersonal)
- Operate equipment such as forklifts (2/3 or more of the time), computer, scale, and drum handlers (up to 1/3 of the time).
- Physical abilities including standing, walking, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 50 pounds or more as specified.
- Visual and perceptual skills including vision at various distances, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED:
- Forklift, computer, scale, drum handlers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PPE REQUIRED:
- Exposure to chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise.
- Safety shoes, glasses, gloves, respiratory protection, and other PPE as required.
