Job Summary
The Material Handler will transport products within the production plant using forklift trucks and pallet jacks. This role involves managing inventory accurately via scanning devices. It is a physically demanding job that includes mixing materials and climbing on machines. Flexibility in schedule is required to cover weekend shifts on a rotation basis. Adherence to safety procedures is essential. Fork truck operation will be about 20-30% of the time.

Major Responsibilities:
% Time Responsibility/Activity
50% Clean dryers and material hoppers before adding new material, which involves climbing on machines and ladders.
20% Transfer products to designated locations, requiring computer skills and inventory management.
10% Scan finished skids of product to correct locations.
10% Load and unload semi-trailers.
5% Perform daily inspection of forklifts and address work orders for repairs.

5% Maintain cleanliness of the shop floor by removing debris and completing miscellaneous tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• 1-2 years of forklift and scanning experience preferred
• Ability to lift materials weighing 10-50 lbs repeatedly, and to stack, maneuver objects, bend, stand, walk, and climb throughout the workday
• Strong math skills, including understanding percentages and fractions
• Proficiency in computer skills, especially in navigating ERP systems for inventory management
• Ability to multitask and prioritize during shifts
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals
