Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking a Material Handler to support on-site material handling, inventory processes, and customer service tasks. You will report to the Warehouse Supervisor in a fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams.

Starting pay is $21.64 per hour, with available Mon-Fri shifts in Alabama. This role requires lifting up to 30 lbs, forklift operation, and compliance with background checks. Overtime and weekends may be required based on demand.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand English.
• Prior material handling experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills are highly preferred.
• Aerospace industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to obtain PPG forklift certification.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, carry, and reach materials daily.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site material handling duties, including scanning, storing, organizing, and distributing materials and products.
• Review customer orders, work orders, or requisitions to identify items that must be moved, collected, or distributed.
• Transport materials from receiving or production areas to appropriate storage or work areas.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to established sequences (FIFO).
• Communicate professionally via email and Microsoft Teams; run reports; perform inventory scans; break down pallets; and deliver materials to proper locations.
• Work flexible hours and observe floating holidays based on customer demand.
