BlueScope Coated Products in Middletown, OH is seeking a Material Handler I for the night shift. You will prepare and package finished coils, operate exit recoiler controls, packaging line, and a forklift, following safety and quality standards.

You will verify proper identification, prep materials for packaging, quarantine non-conforming material, and communicate with Maintenance, Operations and Quality to meet production goals. Shift 5:45 p.m.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Good communication and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Operate exit recoiler controls and packaging line for finished coils.
• Verify finished goods are properly identified before moving to storage.
• Prepare materials for packaging and shipping of coils.
• Quarantine non-conforming material and notify Quality Control when issues arise.

Shift 5:45p to 6am Monday - Thursday Compensation starts at $21.50/hr Night Shift premium $1.50/hr Under general supervision, the Material Handler I prepares and packages finished coils in a safe manner to a designated location. This includes operating exit recoiler controls, packaging equipment and driving a forklift. Communicates daily with employees from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals. **Primary Duties & Responsibilities \\**** Responsible for fulfilling exit assistant duties including operating exit recoiler controls, operating the packaging line and driving a forklift.* Responsible for verifying that finished goods are properly identified with an identification ticket prior to moving them to a storage area* Responsible for preparing materials to be used for packaging and shipping of finished coils* Responsible for quarantining non-conforming material and notifying Quality Control when non-conforming conditions exist* Communicates daily with internal personnel from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals* Transport a bore horizontal coil from the coil cart to the proper location including using a coil mat/chock. **Education & Experience Qualifications** **Minimum:** * High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or experience **Preferred:** * One year of Manufacturing Experience **Skills & Competencies** * Basic computer skills* Time Management – prioritizing work to meet internal and/or external customer demands* Detail Oriented – ensures accuracy of product and documentation to meet internal and/or external customer demands* Good communication skills**Additional Information** The preceding job responsibilities and tasks were designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by associates in this job.
