Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products, LLC is seeking a Material Handler I to safely prepare and package finished coils for storage and shipment. The role requires operating exit recoiler controls, packaging equipment, and driving a forklift, with daily coordination with Maintenance, Operations, and Quality Control.

Minimum education includes a High School diploma or GED, with manufacturing experience preferred. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a stable daytime shift in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Operate exit recoiler controls and packaging line to prepare finished coils.
• Drive forklift and transport coils to designated storage.
• Verify finished goods have proper identification tickets before moving them to storage.
• Quarantine non-conforming material and notify Quality Control when issues exist.
• Communicate daily with Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to resolve problems and support goals.

This includes operating exit recoiler controls, packaging equipment and driving a forklift. Communicates daily with employees from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals.Primary Duties & Responsibilities *Responsible for fulfilling exit assistant duties including operating exit recoiler controls, operating the packaging line and driving a forklift.Responsible for verifying that finished goods are properly identified with an identification ticket prior to moving them to a storage areaResponsible for preparing materials to be used for packaging and shipping of finished coilsResponsible for quarantining non-conforming material and notifying Quality Control when non-conforming conditions existCommunicates daily with internal personnel from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goalsTransport a bore horizontal coil from the coil cart to the proper location including using a coil mat/chock.Education & Experience QualificationsMinimum:High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or experiencePreferred:One year of Manufacturing ExperienceSkills & CompetenciesBasic computer skillsTime Management – prioritizing work to meet internal and/or external customer demandsDetail Oriented – ensures accuracy of product and documentation to meet internal and/or external customer demandsGood communication skillsAdditional InformationThe preceding job responsibilities and tasks were designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by associates in this job.
