Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc. is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to pull, stage, load, and unload lumber and building materials while assisting customers and ensuring accurate shipping and inventory records. The role emphasizes safety, PPE compliance, and outdoor work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
• 18 Years or older.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively and up to 100 lbs in a team lift.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Availability to work during operating hours, M-F 7a-6p. Over time as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pulling and staging building material products (lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking, siding).
• Safely loading and unloading materials on various truck types including semi, box trucks and flat beds.
• Assisting customers with loading materials.
• Accurately completing shipping and inventory documents.
• Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhering to all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Working outdoors in various weather conditions while staying adaptable and prepared.

As a Material Handler, you’ll play a vital role in our operations while gaining hands‑on experience and expanding your skill set. Many of our team members have used this role as a springboard to advance their careers within Star Lumber, growing into leadership and specialized positions.

The Material Handler Is Responsible For

• Pulling and staging building material products (lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking, siding)
• Safely loading and unloading materials on a variety of truck types including semi, box trucks and flat beds
• Assisting customers with loading materials
• Accurately completing shipping and inventory documents
• Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhering to all safety procedures and personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements
• Working outdoors in various weather conditions while staying adaptable and prepared

Requirements

• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of lumber and building materials
• Forklift operation experience
• Familiarity with (WMS) Warehouse Management Systems
