Job summary

Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc. is seeking a Material Handler in Tulsa to pull, stage and load building materials, assist customers, and operate forklifts safely. You will work outdoors, follow PPE requirements, and support a team-focused warehouse environment.

Ideal candidates are able to lift up to 100 lbs with help, have a commitment to safety, and are available for overtime during operating hours. Growth opportunities exist as the company promotes from within.

Qualifications

• Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
• 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively and up to 100 lbs in a team lift.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Availability to work during operating hours, overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pull, stage and load building material products (lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking, siding).
• Safely load and unload materials on various truck types (semi, box, flat bed).
• Assist customers with loading materials.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

The Material Handler is Responsible for:

• Pull, stage and load building material products, may include but not limited to (lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking, siding)
• Safely load and unload materials on a variety of truck typed including semi, box trucks and flat beds
• Assist customers with loading materials
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhere to all safety procedures and personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions while staying adaptable and prepared

Requirements

• Permanent authorization to work in the United States
• 18 Years or older
• Physical capability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively and up to 100 lbs. in a team lift
• Commitment to safety and teamwork
• Availability to work during operating hours, Overtime as needed

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of lumber and building materials
• Forklift operation experience
• Familiarity with (WMS) Warehouse Management Systems
• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center
• Warehouse management technology
