Job summary

Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc. is seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our team in Wichita. You will pull and stage lumber and building materials, load/unload trucks, assist customers, and maintain accurate shipping and inventory documents.

Safety and reliability are essential as you operate forklifts and related equipment, work outdoors in varying weather, and contribute to a culture that promotes from within and values teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
• 18 years or older.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively and up to 100 lbs in a team lift.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Availability to work during operating hours, M-F 7a-6p. Overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pulling and staging building material products (lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking, siding)
• Safely loading and unloading materials on a variety of truck types including semi, box trucks and flat beds
• Assisting customers with loading materials
• Accurately completing shipping and inventory documents
• Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhering to all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Working outdoors in various weather conditions while staying adaptable and prepared

Requirements

• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with WMS Warehouse Management Systems
