Job summary

OBE is seeking a Materials Handler in Westbrook, ME to keep the department clean, organized, and safe, and to record data accurately. The role supports inventory movement and prepares items for production on a Monday-Thursday schedule.

You will follow directions from the Production Supervisor, assist with inventory organization, and help return items to correct locations while maintaining documentation and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Able to perform basic math.
• Basic computer skills or willingness to learn.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.

Summary

The Materials Handler ensures department cleanliness, orderliness, and safety. The Materials Handler ensures the accurate recording of data. The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 6:00am - 4:00pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Listen and follow the direction of the Production Supervisor, and take guidance from senior team members
• Assist with the physical organization of inventory
• Return inventory items to the proper locations
• Assist materials handlers with picking items required for production

Requirements

• Follow all safety policies & procedures as a prerequisite to employment
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Able to write and do basic math
• Basic computer skills or willing to learn
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Must be able to work well with others

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand on feet wearing safety bootsfrom 8-10 hours a day
• Ability to lift, carry, twist, walk, and reach constantly, andbend frequently
• Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
