Job summary

Old-Castle-Building-Envelop in Newark, CA is seeking a Material Handler I to move glass and metal inside the plant, reading orders and supporting safety and quality standards. This role offers hands-on work in a production setting and room to grow within the company.

Starting pay ranges from $21.00 to $28.00 per hour with overtime and potential raises. The ideal candidate has attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a concrete floor.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to safety, quality and efficiency in a fast-paced plant.
• Ability to read work orders and follow basic measurements with a tape measure.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Material Handler I is focused on moving material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant. To include on/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Production Departments, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Starting pay is $21.00 - $28.00per hour.

Job responsibilities include:

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates
• Reads work orders and follows job standards for safety, quality and production
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high
• Prior work history in a plant facility that is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)
