Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Material Handler II for per diem coverage in the Materials Logistics & Distribution unit in Boston, MA. The role involves inventorying, delivering, and replenishing medical/surgical supplies across multiple clinical areas and serves as the front line liaison for clinical departments.

Ideal candidates will be experienced with inventory systems and possess solid communication skills to coordinate with clinical staff and supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

• Inventories, delivers, and replenishes medical/surgical supplies to clinical areas throughout the medical center.
• Uses a handheld inventory module to assess supply needs on ~300 items across up to 8 clinical areas.
• Replenishes items daily and communicates shortages, usage trends, picking errors and damaged items to supervision and clinical areas.
