Job summary

Hillman Group in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Material Handler to support operations by moving materials and finished products with powered industrial equipment. The role runs Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, with a pay rate of $18.50 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential.

You will operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers, load/unload trucks, use handheld scanners, and replenish materials to workstations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with material handling preferred.
• Forklift or pallet jack operation experience.
• Able to read verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of powered industrial equipment.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Use a hand scanner to track materials.
• Picks-up incoming materials from Receiving dock.
• Unloads and stores stock in Bulk storage.
• Replenish materials to workstations promptly.
• Pull and stock products to boxes and locations.
• Transfer finished products to designated areas.
• Stack pallets and ensure space efficiency.
• Operate pallet jack and/or forklift safely.
• Report problems to supervisor and seek solutions.

Job Summary

Supports Operations by moving materials and finished products to designated areas in the facility with a variety of powered industrial equipment.

Essential Job Functions *

• Operates a variety of powered, industrial equipment
• Loads and unloads trucks
• Ability to use a hand scanner
• Picks-up incoming materials from the Receiving dock
• Unloads and puts away stock in the Bulk storage area
• Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner
• Pulls and stocks correct product to appropriate boxes and pick locations
• Transfers finished products to designated areas
• Stacks empty skids and pallets in designated areas
• Operates a manual and/or motorized pallet jack
• Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems; reports other problems to manger

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Material handling experience is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with part numbering systems is a plus.
• Able to operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker and Drexel.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Material Handler: Must be forklift operation certified. Standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Material Handler: Medium - Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs.
