Job summary
Valmont in Valley, Nebraska is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Material Handler 1 to receive, unload, and store incoming loads and inspect finished products for damage. You will operate forklifts and shag trucks, identify materials, and create tags with counts and packaging details.
This role reports to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, requires standing 90% of shift, and involves outdoor work in varying weather. Strong attention to safety and basic math help but no advanced degree is required.
Qualifications
- No degree required.
- 0-1 years relevant experience.
- Ability to operate forklifts.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Ability to read tags, bills of lading and shipping papers.
- Ability to use small hand tools and read measurements.
Responsibilities
- Operate shag truck and forklifts to move material up to 22,000 lbs.
- Read tags, bills of lading and shipping papers.
- Create tags with piece counts and packaging details.
- Inspect galvanized material for quality and coordinate special handling.
- Interact with customers and truck drivers to coordinate loading.
