Valmont Industries, Inc. in Valley, Nebraska is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Material Handler I to unload, inspect, and tag incoming product loads and to help ensure galvanized material meets high-quality standards.

The role involves operating forklifts and shag trucks, reading shipping papers, creating detailed tags, and coordinating with the supervisor on issues. You will stand outside most of your shift, lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain strong safety and housekeeping practices while

Qualifications

• No degree required; 0-1 years relevant experience.
• Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Ability to inspect to ensure that products meet quality standards.
• Ability to load a truck and move up to 20 pounds frequently.
• Experience reading tags, bills of lading, and shipping documents.
• Comfort working 90% outdoors in varied weather.
• Strong attention to detail and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Operate shag truck and forklifts to move up to 22,000 lbs.
• Inspect galvanized material for quality and reject non-conforming items.
• Create tags with counts and packaging details for incoming products.
• Read tags, bills of lading, and shipping papers.
• Coordinate with Lead or Supervisor on any issues or special handling.
• Maintain general plant housekeeping and safety practices.
• Work 1–2 shifts of overtime per week.
