Job summary

Valmont Industries in Claremore, OK is seeking a Material Handler for Shipping/Receiving. This first shift (7am–3:30pm, Mon–Fri) involves receiving, unloading, storing materials, inspecting products for damage, and using forklifts up to 22,000 lbs capacity.

You will tag, document, and coordinate loading with customers and drivers. Applicants should have 2 years of relevant experience and ability to operate small hand tools.

Qualifications

• No Degree. 2 years relevant experience
• Ability to work with wood and small hand tools such as tape measures, saws, drills, riveters, and nail guns
• Ability to safely operate forklifts
• Ability to inspect to ensure that products meet quality standards
• Ability to bundle, crate, box, and wrap products to be shipped
• Ability to load a truck
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently throughout a shift

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts with the capacity to move up to 22,000 lbs. of material on and off of flatbed trailers
• Read tags, bills of lading, and shipping and receiving papers
• Inspect galvanized material to ensure it meets quality standards
• Coordinate special handling for material as needed
• Interact with customers and truck drivers to coordinate loading
• Maintain area housekeeping and safety practices
• Use MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation
