Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Material Handler to support inbound/outbound operations at our Des Moines distribution center. You will ensure accurate inventory, safe handling, and efficient movement of merchandise using RF devices and WMS systems.

You will match item numbers, process shipments, returns, and vendor returns, while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability to accurately match numerical and alphabetical information.
• Follow established operational, safety, and quality procedures.
• Maintain safe work environment, including lifting, moving, and handling merchandise.
• Willingness to learn warehouse systems, RF technology, and operational processes.
• Experience in fast-paced warehouse environments (preferred).
• Experience handling automotive parts or related merchandise (preferred).
• Experience operating WMS, RF scanners, or voice-picking equipment.
• Experience in productivity/quality-driven environments.
• Proficient in an additional language (advantage).

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect, sort, stock, pick, pack, stage, and ship merchandise accurately and efficiently.
• Match item numbers, quantities, manifests, freight bills, and shipping documentation with physical merchandise.
• Process inbound shipments, outbound orders, store returns, warranties, acquisitions inventory, and vendor returns per policy.
• Operate RF scanners, handheld devices, voice-picking systems, and warehouse management software.
• Store and retrieve merchandise from floor locations, shelving, and reserve storage areas.
• Load/unload trailers and freight shipments with safe handling and securing procedures.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through scanning, labeling, auditing, staging, and discrepancy resolution.
• Rebox, relabel, sort, and prepare merchandise for shipment or inventory placement.
• Follow hazardous material handling and safety standards.
