Job summary

Atkore International is seeking a Material Handler to be based in Hobart, IN. You will pull orders from inventory, deliver production materials, and stage finished products to support production and distribution.

You will safely operate PITs, load/unload materials, move items across docks and manufacturing areas, and assist welders and machine operators as needed. A strong focus on safety and accuracy is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
• 1 Year of material handling experience in an industrial environment or equivalent training.
• Experience driving a side-loader forklift preferred.
• Experience handling long products and bundles of material preferred.
• Forklift experience required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) including Combi Lifts.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
• Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
• Stack skids, crates or dunnage in designated areas; clean and dispose of scrap.
• Manage inventory using scan guns and complete required transactions.
• Assist strut welder and production equipment operators when material duties completed or idle.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as necessary.
