Job summary

Atkore International is seeking a Material Handler to be based out of Hobart, IN. You will support production and distribution by pulling orders from inventory, delivering materials, and staging finished products.

Responsibilities include operating PITs, loading/unloading materials, moving items across docks and production areas, stacking, and using scan guns for inventory control. Prior experience with side-loader forklifts and handling long materials is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1 year material handling experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience driving a side-loader forklift preferred.
• Experience handling long products and bundles of material preferred.
• Forklift experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs).
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
• Move materials to and from loading docks, trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
• Stack skids, crates, or dunnage and dispose of scrap.
• Use scan guns to manage inventory and complete transactions.
• Assist strut welder and production equipment operators when materials tasks are complete.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as needed.
