BlueLinx Corporation is hiring a Material Handler / Forklift Operator to support a busy distribution center in a team-focused, safety-driven environment.

The role involves operating a forklift, loading/unloading materials from trailers or rail cars, and maintaining accurate paperwork for distribution and shipping. You will perform daily equipment inspections and help keep the workspace clean and organized.

Formación

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to use forklift safely and proficiently.
• Ability to follow directions and work under pressure.
• Lifting up to 75 lbs.

Responsabilidades

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You'll Do

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.

What We're Looking For

• Ability to understand and follow directions


• Ability to work independently at times under pressure


• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.


• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.

The fixed rate is $20.75 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations. BlueLinx also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health care, dental, vision, life and disability insurance starting the first day of the month, 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day, and 8 paid holidays per year.
