Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our distribution center in the United States.

You will operate forklifts, load and unload building materials, and ensure accurate handling for safe distribution and shipping. This role offers a fixed hourly wage of $18.86 with a Monday–Friday schedule, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate forklift to transport products.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders and safety material.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and handle physical tasks.
• Stable work history and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars, minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily equipment inspection and maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What We’re Looking For:

• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.

• Safe work record and stable work history
