Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler in Houston, TX to load and unload products safely according to policies and work instructions. You will identify materials, stage orders, and update inventory records using the MRP system.

The role requires forklift and overhead crane experience, plus familiarity with shipping/receiving equipment such as straddle and yard trucks. The position involves outdoor work and physical effort.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
• Requires basic manufacturing math.
• Minimum 6 months in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 6 months operating heavy equipment.
• Experience with inventory control systems preferred.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• Experience operating a straddle truck/yard truck for shipping and receiving.

Responsibilities

• Identify material by part number, description, quantity and quality for loading/unloading.
• Gather customer orders and stage by schedule; update consolidation cards for shortages.
• Complete computer transactions via the MRP system for finished goods.
• Use ship papers and load sheets to identify products to be loaded.
