Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler in Houston to load products safely and accurately according to policies. You will identify materials by part number, stage orders, and update records with shortages, while using the MRP system to process finished goods from production.

The role requires forklift and overhead crane experience, operation of straddle/yard trucks, and ability to perform heavy lifting. It offers a full-time schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to use common manufacturing math.
• 6 months prior experience in manufacturing environment.
• 6 months prior experience operating heavy equipment.
• 6 months prior experience using inventory control systems.
• Previous forklift operating experience.
• Previous overhead crane experience.
• Previous experience operating a straddle truck and terminal/yard trucks for shipping and receiving.

Responsibilities

• Identify material by part number, description, quantity and quality.
• Gather customer orders and stage by stop schedule and update consolidation cards for shortages.
• Complete all computer transactions using the MRP system for finished goods from production areas.
• Use ship papers and load sheets to identify products to be loaded as required.
• Transport product to staging area using straddle truck and forklift.
• Operate overhead cranes to move pole product between bolsters.
• Perform general housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Move products to avoid tripping hazards and dispose of wood dunnage safely.
• Assist in loading trailers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
