Job summary

The Bay Family of Companies in Baton Rouge is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support production of fiberglass insulation and facing materials. You will safely load, unload, and move materials, maintain accurate documentation, and operate forklifts per OSHA standards.

Responsibilities include ensuring correct material flow, accurate packing and shipping records, and adherence to safety and housekeeping rules to sustain efficient laminating operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling operations preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Familiarity with fiberglass insulation, facing materials, or metal building insulation preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, Bills of Lading, Picking Lists, and Packing Slips accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Material handling and flow support to maintain continuous laminator operation.
• Load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished rolls using forklifts and other approved equipment.
• Ensure materials are delivered to and from production areas in correct order and quantity.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation for ERP systems.
• Verify incoming shipments against orders and packing slips; report discrepancies.
• Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments per customer and carrier requirements.
