Job summary

Bay Converting Inc. seeks a Material Handler to support the laminating operation by safely loading, unloading, and moving fiberglass insulation and facing materials. You will document Bills of Lading, Packing Slips, and Picking Lists while operating forklifts per OSHA standards.

The role emphasizes accurate inventory records, proper labeling, and timely shipment processing. A high school diploma plus forklift certification or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling preferred.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Familiarity with fiberglass insulation, facing materials, or metal building insulation manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, Bills of Lading, Picking Lists, and Packing Slips accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer and inventory management system proficiency.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a production environment.
  • Commitment to a safe, organized, and productive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and transport raw materials (fiberglass insulation and facing) and finished laminated rolls using forklifts.
  • Ensure materials are delivered to and from production areas in correct order, quantity, and specification.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of all goods.
  • Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments according to customer and carrier requirements.
  • Stay knowledgeable about production schedules to stage fiberglass insulation and ensure facing materials are available for changeovers.
  • Verify incoming shipments against Purchase Orders and Packing Slips and report discrepancies.
  • Ensure Bills of Lading and Picking Lists are accurate when shipping or transferring materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through physical counts and ERP system.
