Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Temple, TX is seeking a 3rd shift Material Handler/Forklift Driver to support our Carpet Cushion operations. You will operate forklifts, move materials from production to loading docks, and maintain accurate inventory records while following safety procedures.

Initial training on 1st shift, full team onboarding, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• Must have forklift experience or certification.
• Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking and data entry.
• Ability to read and interpret a basic tape measure.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 3rd shift Material Handler/Forklift Driver. This position is located at our manufacturing plant in Temple, Tx.

Join our dynamic production team as a Material Handler/ Forklift driver! In this role, you will be the driving force behind our warehouse efficiency, operating powered industrial trucks to keep our Carpet Cushion operations moving smoothly from the production floor straight to the loading docks.

Initial 4–6-week training on 1st shift while full team is onboarded. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence.

Job Description:

• Operate forklifts safely within tight, high-traffic production areas and loading docks.
• Retrieve and transport raw materials and finished goods from inventory and stock locations to support Carpet Cushion operations.
• Organize inventory by following the department layout plan for proper material storage.
• Label materials accurately, ensuring all partial blocks are properly documented for future use.
• Maintain safety standards by keeping a neat, orderly, and hazard-free work environment.
• Perform additional tasks and related duties as assigned by the management team.

Skills / Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Forklift experience or the ability to pass company certification.
• Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking and data entry.
• Measurement proficiency to accurately read and interpret a basic tape measure.
• Strong communication skills to read, write, and completely understand English instructions and labeling processes.
