Job summary

Switchgear Power Systems is seeking a Material Handler/Fab Tech on the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 4:15pm–2:45am). You will move materials, load/unload sheets, assist with laser, brake, weld, and finish parts, supporting fabrication flow across departments.

The role requires 2+ years fabrication/manufacturing experience and forklift operation, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork. Salary is $23.00 per hour plus $3.00 shift differential, with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years fabrication/manufacturing experience with forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Move materials (sheet/WIP) to support fabrication.
• Load and unload sheets and parts from the laser.
• Assist press brake with bending parts (2-person jobs).
• Assist weld with weldments (tacking, prepping).
• Finish parts as needed to meet demand.

Material Handler/Fab Tech – Weekday 2nd Shift

Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:15pm - 2:45am

Overall Responsibility

• Move materials (sheet/WIP) as needed to support fabrication (unload trucks, move material to/from various FAB departments).
• Load, unload sheets and parts off laser.
• Assist press brake in bending parts (2-man jobs).
• Assist weld with weldments (tacking, kitting, prepping, etc).
• Metal finish units as needed and/or based on demand.

Key Job Duties (not Exhaustive)

• Able to use measuring equipment: tape measure, micrometer, etc.
• Understand mathematics to verify job requirements and specifications.
• Hold high quality standards to meet customer specifications.
• Follow company policy and standards.
• Able to operate forklifts and hoists.
• Keep work centers clean and orderly.
• Able to take and follow directives.

Required Skills And Experience

• 2+ years Fabrication/Manufacturing experience & Forklift driving experience.

• Ability to work and function as a team.
• Self-motivated and can work without much supervision.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal).
• Is safety minded and puts safety first while performing job duties and functions.
