FurstStaffing seeks a Material Handler on the 2nd shift to support production and shipping. You will move, pick, and package materials, handle up to 100 lb items, and use barcoding and ERP systems to ensure accurate inventory and timely shipments.
Training is provided for forklift operation if needed, and you will work closely with the supervisor and team to maintain safety and efficiency in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Material Handlers on the 2nd shift support production and shipping by moving, picking, and packaging materials. The role involves handling up to 100-pound items, operating barcoding and ERP systems, and ensuring accurate inventory and timely shipments. Training is provided for forklift operation if needed.
Pull, inspect, and package finished goods for shipment using barcoding and shipping systems
Move, stack, and record materials in ERP/MRP systems
Perform inventory cycle counts and maintain order accuracy
Unload, load, and manage materials for production and shipping
Coordinate shipping schedules and maintain cleanliness
Use computer systems and rotate between functions
Walk and lift materials up to 100 pounds
Adhere to safety policies
Collaborate with supervisor and team
Perform additional duties as needed
1-3 years experience in material handling within warehouse or distribution
Comfortable using computers, navigating multiple software, entering data, and communicating via email and Teams
Experience with packaging, crating, and handling hardware components
Strong knowledge of packaging standards and techniques to prevent freight damage
Familiarity with barcoding systems and ERP/MRP software
Proven ability to handle and stack materials carefully to prevent damage
Ability to operate hand tools and equipment used in wood crating
General understanding of shipping practices and documentation
Strong attention to detail with commitment to accuracy, including six-digit sales order numbers and up to nine-digit part numbers
Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and work flexibly across job functions
Ability to walk 15,000-20,000+ steps per shift while standing for entire workday
Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials, including team lifting items up to 100 pounds
Forklift experience and certification
