FurstStaffing seeks a Material Handler in Illinois. This role ensures safe and efficient movement of materials, inventory accuracy, and a clean, organized work area. Shift is 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, at $19.50 per hour, with overtime as production needs require.
Responsibilities include forklift operation, loading/unloading, ERP-based inventory records, cycle counts, labeling, storage, and timely delivery to production while coordinating with team.
Material Handler supports safe and efficient movement of materials across the facility, ensuring inventory accuracy and a safe, organized work environment. Work the 6:00 AM-2:30 PM shift Monday through Friday, earning $19.50 per hour. The role enables uninterrupted production by managing material flow and maintaining inventory records.
Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
Load, unload, transport, retrieve, and properly store materials and components.
Maintain accurate inventory records using an ERP system, including part identification, locations, transfers, cycle counts, and material issuance.
Monitor inventory levels, identify shortages or discrepancies, and communicate issues promptly.
Inspect materials for damage, labeling errors, and proper storage conditions.
Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and routine quality checks.
Deliver materials to production areas in a timely manner and coordinate priorities with team members and supervisors.
Maintain proper labeling, organization, and palletization of materials.
Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, lifting practices, and applicable regulatory standards.
Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems.
Ability to safely operate or become certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Basic math skills for inventory counts and quantity verification.
Ability to follow safety procedures and standard operating procedures consistently.
Flexibility to adjust to changing production needs and work overtime when required.
Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or manufacturing preferred.
