Job summary

AKG of America in Mitchell, SD, is seeking a Material Handler for the 1st Shift (6AM-2PM, Mon–Fri). You will unload shipments, sort parts, keep inventory up to date, and prepare weekly Midwest shipments for distribution.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in manufacturing, a valid driver’s license, forklift certification, English proficiency, and the ability to use SAP to locate and track parts; attention to detail and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Has 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; receiving experience is a plus.
• Must have a Valid Drivers License.
• Is forklift-certified and confident operating material-handling equipment.
• Ability to communicate in English is required. Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to follow work orders, read supervisor notes, and communicate with team members and other departments using a radio.
• Is comfortable using computers and can learn SAP to locate and track parts.
• Can stay organized while juggling multiple tasks—unloading trucks, sorting materials, and pulling inventory.
• Pays strong attention to detail and keeps documentation accurate.
• Maintains a clean driving record to operate the company truck when needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials, review packing slips, and maintain accurate records.
• Unload incoming trucks, sort parts, and place materials on the welding line.
• Prepare and load weekly Midwest shipments; confirm customer shipping and delivery reports.
• Use SAP to locate, retrieve, and track inventory.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and notify Purchasing when materials need replenishment.
• Assist other Material Handlers as needed.
• Report issues to the Supervisor immediately.
• Follow all environmental, safety, and company policies.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
