Job summary

AKG in Mitchell, SD is seeking a Material Handler for the 1st shift (6 AM–2 PM, Mon–Fri). You will unload shipments, document and sort parts, keep inventory updated, and prepare weekly outbound shipments for Midwest distribution.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in manufacturing, a valid driver’s license, forklift certification, and can communicate in English; SAP knowledge will help locate and track parts. Training provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy and ability to use basic software.
• Ability to read, write, and understand work orders and blueprints.
• Basic math and measuring skills.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Ability to organize receiving paperwork and multitask.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials, review packing slips, and maintain accurate records.
• Unload incoming trucks, sort parts, and place materials on the welding line.
• Prepare and load weekly Midwest shipments; confirm customer shipping and delivery reports.
• Use SAP to locate, retrieve, and track inventory.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and notify Purchasing when materials need replenishment.
• Assist other Material Handlers as needed.
• Report issues to the Supervisor immediately.
• Follow all environmental, safety, and company policies.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
