Job summary

Anderson|Biro, LLC is seeking a Material Handler for the 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) to support production by staging, handling, packaging, and transporting materials throughout the facility. The role includes assisting machine operators, inventory organization, shipping/receiving, and maintaining a safe, efficient environment.

Responsibilities include pulling and staging raw materials, inspecting vendor materials, loading/unloading, and ensuring materials meet order specs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Tow motor or forklift operating experience is required.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to read work orders, specifications, and written instructions.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Pull, stage, and prepare raw materials for upcoming production orders.
• Package, handle, protect, and transport finished goods and raw materials.
• Load and unload materials for shipping and receiving operations.
• Inspect incoming vendor materials for compliance with requirements.
• Label and return materials to inventory locations accurately.
• Assist production operators with order setup and packaging materials.
• Support machine operators with slitting equipment per specs and work orders.
• Verify materials meet order requirements (gauge, width, etc.).
• Locate, stage, and organize materials for production schedules.
• Return unused raw materials to designated storage locations.
• Maintain accurate material flow between production, packaging, and warehouse areas.
• Follow safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Participate in cross-training to learn various production processes.
• Perform additional duties as directed by management.

This position assists machine operators with production setup, material preparation, inventory organization, shipping and receiving activities, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Pull, stage, and prepare raw materials for upcoming production orders.
• Package, handle, protect, and transport finished goods and raw materials.
• Load and unload materials for shipping and receiving operations.
• Inspect incoming vendor materials to ensure compliance with company requirements.
• Label and return materials to inventory locations accurately.
• Assist production operators with order setup, including preparing packaging materials, cutting cores, corrugated materials, and other production support activities.
• Support machine operators as needed in operating slitting equipment according to customer specifications and work orders.
• Verify materials meet order requirements, including gauge, width, and other specifications.
• Locate, stage, and organize materials for production schedules.
• Return unused raw materials to designated storage locations.
• Maintain accurate material flow between production, packaging, and warehouse areas.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn various production processes and functions.
• Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday.
• Use hands and manual dexterity to handle materials, operate equipment, and utilize hand tools.
• Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and move over 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work around moving machinery, industrial equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and other industrial conditions.
