Job summary

ASR Group in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Material Handler to load, unload, and move materials within the plant and surrounding yard. You will work with pallets, racks, and tow motors to keep operations flowing.

Responsibilities include following work orders, recording material movements, and assisting with shipping or receiving as needed. A high school diploma and forklift certification are required, with 1–2 years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Forklift or tow motor experience preferred
• Certification is required
• Proven ability to meet customer and management deadlines

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
• Move materials within plant, yard, or work site using tow motor
• Record daily material handling metrics and maintain inventory of packing materials and finished goods
• Assist with shipping or receiving as needed and ensure safety and housekeeping

OVERVIEW

The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for following work orders and/or verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and using tow motor. Records daily material handling metrics. Maintains the inventory of packing materials and finished paper. May assist with shipping or received as needed. All other duties as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCES

• 1-2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment required
• Prior forklift or tow motor experience preferred
• The ability to be certified is required
• Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and the Ability to adjust focus.
