Job summary

Tekni-Plex, Inc. in Dublin, VA, is seeking a Material Handler capable of operating forklift and clamp truck on 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) to move freight and prepare materials for production.

You will read work orders, tag containers, record movements, and ensure accurate handling of goods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role includes safety, teamwork, and on-site training.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklift and clamp truck.
• Ability to read work orders and determine material needs.
• Record unit movements on daily tickets or sheets.
• Tag and label containers accurately during handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and clamp truck to move freight and materials.
• Move materials to/from storage, production areas, loading docks, or vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for using a forklift, and a clamp truck to manually move freight, stock, or other materials and/or perform other general labor as required.
• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
• Assemble product containers or crates, using hand tools and precut lumber.
• Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
