Job summary

Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc. in Tulsa, OK is seeking a reliable Material Handler to support loading, staging, and shipping building materials including lumber, cabinets, windows, and doors. You will operate forklifts and related equipment, follow safety protocols, and work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
• 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and up to 100 lbs with team lift.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Availability to work during operating hours with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pull, stage and load building material products including lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking and siding.
• Safely load and unload materials from various trucks including semi, box and flat beds.
• Assist customers with loading materials.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

The Material Handler is Responsible for:

• Pull, stage and load building material products, may include but not limited to (lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking, siding)
• Safely load and unload materials on a variety of truck typed including semi, box trucks and flat beds
• Assist customers with loading materials
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhere to all safety procedures and personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions while staying adaptable and prepared

Requirements

• Permanent authorization to work in the United States
• 18 Years or older
• Physical capability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively and up to 100 lbs. in a team lift
• Commitment to safety and teamwork
• Availability to work during operating hours, Overtime as needed

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of lumber and building materials
• Forklift operation experience
• Familiarity with (WMS) Warehouse Management Systems
• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center
• Warehouse management technology
