Job summary

Aerotek is seeking experienced Material Handlers for a fast-paced manufacturing operation in San Fernando, CA. Roles include forklift operation, material movement, and inventory management in a fully onsite setting.

Shifts include 1st and 2nd with overtime and Saturday options. 5+ years in material handling preferred; HSD or GED required. Competitive pay and benefits available for a contract-to-hire position.

Responsibilities

• Operate handheld scanners to track material movement
• Pull materials from storage and stage for production

• Move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Load/unload pallets and shelving and document movements
• Maintain clean, safe work area and perform daily safety checks
• Support production and warehouse operations as needed

Available Shifts

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Overtime and Saturdays available on both shifts.
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM. Overtime and Saturdays available on both shifts.

What You'll Be Doing

• Using handheld scanners to track and record material movement
• Pulling materials from storage and staging them for production
• Returning unused materials back to inventory
• Verifying proper product labeling and storage requirements
• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Loading and unloading pallets, racks, and shelving
• Moving materials throughout the warehouse and production facility
• Accurately counting and documenting inventory movements
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Conducting daily area inspections and safety walkthroughs
• Supporting production and warehouse operations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Material Handling experience
• Valid Forklift (FKL) Certification (Expired certification? No problem! We can assist with recertification.)
• Experience in warehouse, shipping & receiving, and forklift operations
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong basic math skills
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Flexibility to report to different company facilities when needed, including same-day assignments

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5+ years of advanced Material Handler experience, including inventory control and material movement responsibilities

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Fernando, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
