Job Title:Material Handler
Pay Rate:$21/hour
Location:Rockville, MD 20850
Work Environment:Onsite (In-person interviews required)

Overview:
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Material Handler to support a leading biopharmaceutical operation in Rockville, MD. This position plays a vital role in managing inventory processes including the receipt, storage, distribution, and shipment of raw materials, client samples, and finished goods. While a degree is not required, prior experience in biopharma shipping and handling is essential. Candidates with an Associate’s degree in Biotechnology are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive incoming materials, client samples, and internal finished goods; perform physical/quantity checks and verify documentation in compliance with quality procedures.

Store inventory according to regulatory and quality standards, including segregation and temperature control requirements.

Accurately record inventory transactions in systems such as Oracle or LIMS.

Support operations by issuing and delivering materials in a timely manner.

Conduct routine inventory management tasks including cycle counts and disposal of outdated materials.

Prepare and ship materials in accordance with client specifications and applicable SOPs, ensuring accurate documentation and coordination with logistics providers.

Monitor and perform basic maintenance on departmental equipment as needed.

Safely operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks, dock levelers).

Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and drive cost savings.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in biopharma material handling, shipping, or receiving is required

Associate’s degree in Biotechnology is preferred but not required

Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines

Familiarity with inventory systems such as Oracle and LIMS is a plus

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment
