Job Summary

Responsible for and oversees the loading, unloading, and moving of materials within or near the plant, warehouse, storage facility, or worksite. May serve as a team lead for lower-level handlers, focusing on continuous process improvement.

Job Responsibilities

1. Responsible and accountable for work orders or following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
2. Work under minimal supervision on duties that are often non-routine, requiring advanced skills or knowledge, and adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment to meet specific needs.
3. Perform detailed tasks requiring deeper knowledge and experience in processes and procedures.
4. Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
5. Communicate effectively with other departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales.
6. Resolve most questions and problems, referring only complex issues to higher levels.
7. Serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems.
8. Orient and train lower-level handlers.
9. Oversee proper opening of containers using hand tools like steel cutters, crowbars, or hammers.
10. Load and unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves manually.
11. Secure materials in transit with strapping, bracing, or padding using hand tools.
12. Transport materials using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other devices.
13. Record materials moved or handled in an ERP system, including counting and weighing.
14. Attach tags or labels to materials to mark information.
15. Support and uphold the mission, values, and culture of the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Maintain forklift certification.
• Solid experience with ERP systems like Costpoint in a manufacturing environment focusing on production and inventory tasks.

The expected pay scale for this position is $50,515/year - $72,237/year. The actual salary may vary based on factors such as level, location, responsibilities, and candidate experience.
