Job description

Join to apply for the Material Handler role at Visual Comfort & Co.

The Material Handler duties include, but are not limited to, shipping, receiving, cycle counting, picking, packing, and checking materials in a climate-controlled warehouse. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to notice small differences in item numbers.

Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to safety, OSHA guidelines, work rules, and policies; maintain cleanliness inside and outside the facility.
2. Be present, dependable, punctual, and adhere to the schedule set by the Manager.
3. Support and follow VCC Core Values.
4. Use a computer to print labels and investigate discrepancies in the WMS.
5. Conduct basic inspection, labeling, and wrapping of materials with the quality assurance department.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Receiving:

1. Receive product deliveries.
2. Unload shipping containers.
3. Scan and stock products accurately and promptly.
4. Use handheld scanners.

Picking:

1. Maintain picking accuracy and standard.
2. Communicate issues with work orders.

Cycle Counting:

1. Complete cycle counts, inventories, audits, and reconciliations.
2. Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Checking:

1. Evaluate shipping materials against pick tickets.
2. Label and tag boxes for shipment.

Packing:

1. Pack items efficiently within time standards.
2. Operate packing machines and equipment.

Requirements:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. 6 months to 1 year of warehouse or related experience.
3. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
4. Operate manual pallet jacks and handheld scanners.
5. Work well in a team and manage time effectively under deadlines.
6. Follow directions and communicate clearly in English.
7. Self-motivated with minimal supervision.

Hours:

Typically Monday through Friday, with possible flexible hours, including before or after scheduled times and weekends.
