Job Description Overview

The Material Handler I is responsible for the moving and storage of raw materials and finished goods, including fabricating products on pallets, scanning finished goods, issuing materials to batches, handling floor jacks, and operating automated equipment and stretch wrappers.

Responsibilities
  1. Able to perform Packer I duties
  2. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations
  3. Move raw materials (preforms, boxes, trays, etc.) from staging areas to required locations
  4. Complete paperwork required for Safety, Quality, or Production Processes
  5. Check production lines to ensure necessary raw materials are available
  6. Stack finished products to create finished pallets
  7. Secure finished goods on pallets according to customer specifications
  8. Document required information on reports (Pack IDs, etc.)
  9. Verify pallet completeness before moving from the production line
  10. Move finished products to wrapping staging area, wrap pallets, and move to designated area
  11. Assist with de-palletizing, restacking, and reworking products
  12. Follow all instructions and Good Manufacturing Practices
  13. Maintain cleanliness of work area
  14. Transport trash, recyclables, and pallets to designated locations
  15. Assist with inventory of raw materials and finished goods, scan or delete Pack IDs into MRP system
  16. Communicate issues or quality concerns to team members or supervisors
  17. Properly utilize grinders
  18. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience operating a pallet jack preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and basic math skills
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and communication
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack
  • Commitment to organizational success
  • Able to multi-task
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Lift and carry up to 60 lbs
  • Push, pull, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl
  • Perform repetitive reaching and grasping motions
  • Reach 7 feet using steps or other aids
  • Work environment varies with temperature changes
