Job description

Position Overview:

As a Material Handler, you will be a member of an assigned production crew, reporting to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor. You will contribute to the success of Ball by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility.

The Golden plant operates in a high-volume, fast-paced environment 24/7, 365 days a year. Our crews work on a 4 days on/4 days off schedule, rotating between days and nights monthly.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

• Follow all 5S standards and safety policies, including food safety, personal protective equipment, and emergency procedures.
• Operate forklifts and coordinate the movement of products such as raw materials, scrap, finished goods, packaging materials, and chemicals.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, delivery drivers, and customers.
• Inspect aluminum products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Build positive relationships with team members through collaboration, communication, and ethical integrity.

Required Experience & Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in an industrial environment.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• 3 or more years of operation and maintenance experience with forklifts.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management.
• Experience with warehouse or ERP systems like JD Edwards or AS900.

Physical Environment & Working Conditions:

• May include hot/cold conditions, loud noise, prolonged standing and walking, and climbing.
