Job Title: Material Handler at US Conec

Summary of Position: Responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near plants or work sites, performing the duties outlined below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow work orders or verbal instructions to determine which materials or containers to move.
• Open containers as needed.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Load materials into vehicles and secure them with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Transport materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Remove samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and deliver samples to quality control for analysis.
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist and clean work areas, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
• Operate a forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Observe safety and security procedures, determine appropriate actions beyond guidelines, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to carry out simple instructions and handle standardized situations with minimal variability.
• Basic knowledge of software applications.
• Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
• Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views and demonstrates the ability to give and receive feedback.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing, and occasionally sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and focus adjustment.
