About the Position

We are seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our team. Responsibilities include executing safety standards, achieving daily productivity goals while meeting quality requirements, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with non-routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

1. Follow safe work methods at all times and report unsafe conditions.
2. Safely move steel to and from storage or production areas using appropriate equipment.
3. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet, exert force as required, and work in all weather conditions.
4. Apply proper bundling techniques and configure loads based on planned routes.
5. Maximize load capacity safely and operate all tools and equipment properly.
6. Identify safety issues with equipment and report them promptly.
7. Maintain spatial awareness and work safely around moving objects and personnel.
8. Attend all required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
9. Read work orders and instructions accurately and meet productivity standards.
10. Plan and organize work independently and communicate effectively across departments.
11. Develop knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
12. Demonstrate basic math skills.
13. Possibly demonstrate strong customer relations skills.

Physical Requirements

• Use hands/fingers to handle, feel, talk, or hear.
• Occasionally stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 25-40 pounds.
• Have specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision.
