Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company in the steel products sector, seeks a production team member to support the T-Post line. You will lift, inspect, and move finished posts, then help with loading and packing for shipment. A strong work ethic and reliability are essential.

You’ll join a safety-conscious environment with training provided and opportunities to advance within manufacturing, reinforcement, and related operations at multiple sites.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED. Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Willing to learn, multi-task, and adapt to shift schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and remove sheared post from the T-Post line.
  • Ensure the quality of sheared posts.
  • Hang posts onto paint line hooks and unhook posts at finishing end.
  • Bundle the finished posts and assist with truck loading.
  • Participate in CMC safety programs and follow safety procedures.

What You'll Do
  • Assist and remove sheared post from the T-Post line
  • Ensure the quality of sheared posts
  • Hang posts onto paint line hooks and unhook posts at finishing end
  • Bundle the finished posts
  • Assist with the loading of trucks for T-Post shipments
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
  • Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
  • Perform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed to equipment without the assistance of maintenance personnel
What You'll Need
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependability in attendance, task completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
  • Ability to work overtime as required, including planned schedules and unplanned emergency situations
  • Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Able and willing to cross train as required
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
