Job summary

CMC is a Fortune 500®–level organization seeking a versatile maintenance-focused professional to support our steel and construction reinforcement manufacturing operations. You may work in an office-like setting, operate a crane, run manufacturing equipment, or troubleshoot technical obstacles, with training and team support to reach your full potential.

In this role, you will contribute to safety programs, perform routine maintenance, and help improve work methods while meeting production

Qualifications

Basic computer literacy and reliable attendance are required.
Ability to learn quickly and multitask in a dynamic setting.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
Perform minor maintenance or repairs as needed without maintenance personnel.
Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures.
Understand start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
Assist maintenance personnel as needed.
Communicate production issues, concerns, and needs.
Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift.
Carry out daily housekeeping in the work area.
Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge and teamwork.
Operate Heavy Equipment as required.
Inspect scrap deliveries for quality and non-conformances.

What You'll Do

Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
Perform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed without the assistance of maintenance personnel
Responsible for continuous improvement such as suggesting improvements in work methods and procedures
Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
Assist maintenance personnel when requested or needed
Effectively communicate with others aboutpossible productionissues, concerns, and needs
Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
Ensure the tasks and activities as directed by operations support management are carried out in a safe andtimelymanner
Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and communication with others
Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE
Operate Heavy Equipment
Inspect scrap deliveries to ensure quality and identify any non-conformance items.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines, maintain a professional demeanor in all situations, and commitment to excellent customer services at all times

What You'll Need

Basic computer skills
Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
Willingness to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
Ability to work overtime as required, including planned schedules and unplanned emergency situations
Ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
Ability to work in environments with exposure to temperature extremes, chemicals, dust, fumes, mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
Ability to lift to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for extended periods of time
Demonstrated dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
Ability to operate material handling equipment

Your Education

High School Diploma or GED required
