Position: Material Handler

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for a Material Handler! Please review the responsibilities and qualifications below and apply today!

Shift: Swing shift position 2pm-10:30pm plus overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Perform daily distribution yard activities for the facility, including receiving, storing, and shipping/building loads.
2. Operate forklift safely and efficiently.
3. Ensure loads match orders before vehicles exit the yard.
4. Perform customer service activities.
5. Maintain broad knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
6. Stay alert and adaptable to warehouse routines.
7. Understand and apply basic mathematical calculations.
8. Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
9. Follow safety programs and ensure OSHA compliance.
10. Demonstrate commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous improvement.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED, or two years of equivalent work experience. Ability to understand and communicate safety and work instructions. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with physical exertion, in all weather conditions.
2. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of building materials and engineered wood products is a plus. Ability to measure and understand lengths of materials. Warehouse experience, including forklift operation, is preferred.
