**Swing shift position: 2pm-10:30pm, plus overtime as needed.**
The Material Handler performs daily distribution yard activities for a facility, including receiving, storing, and shipping/building loads. Operate forklift and ensure loads match orders prior to vehicle departure. Perform customer service activities. Maintain broad knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations. Be alert and adaptable to warehouse routines. Understand and apply basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Keep the work area clean and organized. Follow safety programs and ensure OSHA compliance. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED, or two (2) years of equivalent work experience. Ability to understand and communicate safety and work-related instructions. Work in a warehouse environment with physical exertion, in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of building material and engineered wood products is a plus. Ability to measure lengths of materials. Experience with warehouse operations, including forklift operation, is preferred.
